Paris is the world capitol of gastronomy and as such it will blow nearly everyone’s mind away with its offer of amazing dishes and cuisine. As with its other fields of life, Paris is very diverse when it comes to its food and restaurants and everyone will find something suitable and attractive in the city. There are restaurants with three Michelins stars, most notable of them being Alain Ducasse and Le Meurice. But aside from luxury restaurants, in almost every single street in Paris you will find some amazing places where you can enjoy amazing food that seems to be better in France than in whole of the rest of the world.
Food is quite expensive on the other hand, and if you are looking for a quick inexpensive meal you should probably visit some of the chains of quick food (like the Belgian Quick) where you can get a decent meal for €6-7 ($8 to $10USD). Some of the better and inexpensive options are budget restaurants where you can get a nice traditional meal for not so big money. Morning coffee with a croissant is one of France’s most amazing things and you shouldn’t miss having that whenever you get the chance. Also, you will find lots of restaurants with traditional national cuisines as many people from all over the world are also opening restaurants of all kinds, from Thai and Chinese, through Oriental, Indian, to Italian and Mexican.
There shouldn’t be any trouble for anyone looking for a nice meal in Paris. There is also quite a number of bistros with sidewalk terraces that offer nice (usually meat oriented) meals for a really decent price. Trendy restaurants will require reservations weeks and maybe even months in advance if you want to go out for dinner, but reserving a place for lunch should be much easier as dinner is the main meal in France.
Seafood is also great here and you should take the chance to try it whenever you can because Parisian chefs are masters of cooking fruit of the sea. The only problem in Paris will be if you are a vegetarian as the French cuisine is meat oriented (quite heavily) so you will not find a good vegetarian meal easily. And a good advice would be to go to the places where staff isn’t readily welcoming you in English because those places know you probably won’t be coming back so the service is much lousier.
